During the first two months of this year, 93,128 tourists visited Cappadocia, one of Turkey's most important centers for natural, historical, and cultural tourism. Cappadocia continues to attract attention as a place with beautiful landscapes and unique geological formations, such as rock complexes, historical churches and monasteries carved into cliffs, and picturesque towns, accompanied by a warm climate. Various events continue to attract the attention of both local and foreign tourists. According to data from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Nevşehir, in January, 42,560 tourists visited the region's museums and archaeological sites, while in February, the number rose to 50,568. In January and February, more than 30,786 people visited the open-air museum in Göreme. Mayor Omer Eren of Göreme noted the increase in the number of visitors with the start of the return to normal life conditions under new supervision and expressed confidence in the continuation of tourism activities in a favorable atmosphere. He also emphasized that both local and foreign guests actively visit the city of Göreme, which is an important part of Cappadocia.
